Children of NHO

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, it is our sincere hope that you will enjoy reading this profile and partner New Horizon Orphanage (NHO) in alleviating the dire need of the orphaned and vulnerable girl. It is a difficult situation...but not hopeless.

This profile is designed to provide a brief account on the operations of NHO as provided for in the Bible. It is prepared in a non-academic and easy-to read style so as to make itself amenable to every reader wishing to extend help to our orphanage. This era of profound suffering has increased the demand for God's guidance and spiritual encouragements from each other which are regarded as recipes to a sound Christian development. As said in the Bible (Ezekiel 22; 30), and (Samuel 3; 10)

"and I sought for a man among them who should make up a hedge and stand in the gap before the land, that I should not destroy, but I found none...The Lord came and stood, and called as at the other times, "Samuel, Samuel", then Samuel answered, "speak, for your servant heareth". This is a response to the burden that God has impressed upon the hearts of his children. The families cannot be destroyed whilst we stand and watch; and yet there is something we can do to change this world. God said;

[1] God has given some basic principles of how we are to care for those less fortunate than ourselves. Scripture says, "When you harvest your crops, don't reap the corners of your fields, and don't pick up stray grains of wheat fround. It is the same with our grape crop - we don't pick up the grapes that fall on the ground. Leave them for the poor and those travelling through, for I am Jehovah your God" (Leviticus 19:9-10, TLB).

NHO is committed to sharing Gods love in a tangible way through the distribution of
humanitarian aid to as many people as possible (1John 3.18) NHO! A non-profit organization, is consciously and actively remembering orphans, street children, the elderly, poor and suffering people of the world.

RESPONSES TO ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE GIRL CHILD

Don't Throw Them Away a new culture of using children as sex workers by Queen mothers and mostly are the OVC's. It is already well on its way. It's like a plague.

To educators, pastors, politicians and parents. Please "wake up" We can no longer ignore.

What is happening to our children? Why do we place millions Kwacha price tag on a new BMW and zero value on a child who fails to meet our standards. We can't afford to throw them away.

The Government, seeing the misery faced by the girl child who against her desires is involved in premature prostitution and any other forms of child abuse, has formed a coalition to fight the abuse and exploitation of young people.

SHARING OUR VISION

Moved by the untold misery that has flooded the streets of Lusaka, and compassion of social and economic ills affecting the girl child more than her counterpart, Mrs Juliet Chilengi had the will and power to set up an institution that will ease the life of a girl child. Unfortunately her effort yielded no tangible results because of financial constraints. The zeal to implement was there but was hampered by a lack of resources.

(Fortunately, God gave a chance to Mrs Chilengi to watch TBN Christian Network 'Putting a smile on the face of a child'. The programme opened up Mrs Chilengi's mind. Instantly God spoke to her heart to say, "just with what you have at hand you can initiate this programme". Without any hesitation she surrendered her own well furnished house and turned it into NHO.)

Together with other co-mothers, she came up with ideas of tackling the problems of the girl child with the vigor it deserves. They have ensured that the basic needs are provided to the girl child, who is not to blame for what she is going through. Her 'innocence' is the driving force and anchor for NHO.
